About Mary
I am a multimedia producer, freelance journalist and communications consultant with decades of experience.
As a journalist, I have trained reporters and photographers to shoot and edit video and audio and helped lead the conversion of daily print newspaper into a 24/7 news operation focused on multimedia stories. I’ve served as editor-in-chief for a technology news website, co-produced a science news show for public television, and written hundreds of general and business news stories – mostly about technology and banking – for daily newspapers.
“Mary’s guidance and work ethic created an environment (at GoCampus) that was creative, effective and fun.”
– Janice Lutz, marketing and project management consultant (USA)
Besides news videos, I shot and edited the award-winning documentary film 24/7, the battle for at-home care.
As a public relations director and consultant I have lead worldwide PR teams and created strategies and messaging for giants like Apple and HP as well as a handful of start-up companies in computing and biotechnology. I’ve taught companies how to use PR as a strategic weapon and taught PR agency staff how to write to attract journalists’ interest. For companies I’ve written wide range of materials – internal videos, sales presentations, Voice of the Customer programs, websites, keynote speeches, radio shows, strategic selling newsletters, and hundreds of news releases. I’ve also trained dozen of executives how to be interviewed by a reporter.
I’ve developed a public relations curriculum to improve education provided by PR agencies.
